We spent a lovely week in May 2018 at Getaway with our 2 young boys.
The place is just as the name implies, private and secluded, somewhere we could unwind.
It’s equipped with all the comforts of home, and some more that we don’t have!
There are 2 covered seating areas, one to the front and one to the rear, with the rear facing towards the sea, meaning evening times, we could enjoy the (amazing) sunsets as we ate.

There is a great bedroom overlooking the main room, which meant we could keep an eye on our eldest, and the master bedroom is huge.

The property has quite a bit of land, meaning the kids could explore the wildlife. We saw lots of lizards, a gigantic crab and even a snake.

Getaway is in the settlement of Current, which is a small community surrounded by beautiful beaches which we eagerly explored. Low tide means lots of sandbars to wade out to as well.

From Getaway we could then explore the island of Eleuthera, which is a great island with lots of places to venture to.

February 15th, 2024: Wonderful!

We had a fantastic stay at Gateway. The place is extraordinarily beautiful and wonderfully secluded. It was a perfect home base to explore the north side of the island, or spend the whole day relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding right out front - and then settle in for the postcard sunsets. We really loved Gateway and Eleuthera. I hope to be back!

 

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to spend a few days at your wonderful home. The entire experience was amazing.  We were captivated by the Getaway property and the friendly people of Current settlement. Pedro and his wife Dawn were very helpful.   We hope to come back very soon, hopefully for a full week next time!
