January 15th, 2020: Wow, what a great time we had. First let me thank thank Tim for being so kind as to work my ever changing date of arrival. The joy of flying Non-Rev. my wife and I escaped once again to this magical island without our children for some well deserved alone time. From North Eleuthera airport We took a cab and first stopped at the liquor store then headed to the grocery store for some basic essentials ($ 40 cab) We Then met Karen in Current for assistance to the house. She gave us the lay of the land and was a delight. If we ever had a question she was always reachable. The house had everything that we could need for our time in Eleuthera. We enjoyed the location for the first two days without leaving. We rode the bikes into current and grabbed some snacks and lobster from Karen’s small store. Played in the crystal clear water, explored the coast line with the kayak. Enjoyed peaceful sunsets with the occasional boat passing by. Never even saw a soul on the beach. If you are in need of some valuable time away from the crowds and overpriced drinks this is it. Eleuthera is a hidden gem and we always look forward to our visits. I would definitely come back Thanks for a fabulous time We already miss it

It is a privilege to express our appreciation of using the lovely house and spot you have on the tip of the North-West of Eleuthera.  Our first stay in the Getaway in the winter of 2005/6, coming from Canada was an experience we did not forget.  Apart from the climate, the location at that particular spot at the end of the road gave us all the rest, solitude and yet, within 15 min. walk we were in Current among friendly people and could obtain the necessities, without having to drive anywhere.  Also, if the waves of the Atlantic were higher, the Bight of Eleuthera side was like a mirror.  An ideal place to rest, read books, enjoy the sun and sea - on either side of the house in the large screened porches.  No wonder we came back!  This time with friends to whom we shared our excitement about Eleuthera and your lovely house which just suited our needs. This time with a vehicle and we found it ideal to make excursions to the rest of the island.

We can tell it takes real care and a real concern for those who stay at Getaway. For which we applaud you, Tim. We've stayed at many houses in the Bahamas and in the Caribbean and we can say, without exaggeration, that this one was one of the best.

Everything one needs for a comfortable and tasteful stay, whether one week or many, is pleasurably provided. We loved the kayaks and were on them every morning on that great peaceful, immaculate sea. Thanks for all the entertainment facilities and the maps and island information. And let us just steer any future renters to a couple of real wonderful people who enhanced our stay beyond expectation. They are Phil Neily and Karen Knowles in Current. Phil has the boat and Karen does the care of the house. Both longtime citizens of the Settlement of Current, and both part of the reason for an enhanced stay at Getaway. Thank you Karen and Phil for your friendship and your talents.
