Your house is AMAZING! We had the most relaxing time, kids loved their little private beach, we took day trips to the local beaches and Gregory town, sand bar beach was as gorgeous as I remembered, kids didn’t want to leave their private bath tub. - we could not have asked for a better break from the city, thank you so much for opening up your home to us!

 

We had everything we needed, the house was perfectly stocked with all we needed and so clean, total heaven.

And now we’re back in freezing NY, but the memories will definitely keep us going for a while.

We can tell it takes real care and a real concern for those who stay at Getaway. For which we applaud you, Tim. We've stayed at many houses in the Bahamas and in the Caribbean and we can say, without exaggeration, that this one was one of the best.

Everything one needs for a comfortable and tasteful stay, whether one week or many, is pleasurably provided. We loved the kayaks and were on them every morning on that great peaceful, immaculate sea. Thanks for all the entertainment facilities and the maps and island information. And let us just steer any future renters to a couple of real wonderful people who enhanced our stay beyond expectation. They are Phil Neily and Karen Knowles in Current. Phil has the boat and Karen does the care of the house. Both longtime citizens of the Settlement of Current, and both part of the reason for an enhanced stay at Getaway. January 30th, 2024: Restful wonderful waterfront retreat

If you like listening to waves, “Getaway” is perfect and its pocket beach is wonderful, and the sunset view is gorgeous. The kitchen is very well stocked with what’s necessary to cook meals, including condiments, spices, and herbs. Also there are movie DVDs, board games, and books. An SUV with a high ride height is recommended for navigating the dirt road. The settlement of Current is remote, which means this really is a peaceful “Getaway”. Driving a short distance farther along the main road takes you to that end of the island where there used to be activity. Park and take a pleasant isolated hike along the shore on a dirt-and-rock road around to the Cut and beyond the bend. It’s also a quick drive to the ferries to Spanish Wells or Harbour Island, which are pleasant day trips. Other than that, it’s a bit of a trek to Governor’s Harbour. We didn’t go farther south than that.
