My husband and I spent 3 weeks at The Getaway in Current, North Eleuthera. The only thing we could have possibly asked for was better weather. But we were not alone. Anyone there during the same time frame felt the same. The house is lovely. In fact, lovelier than it looks on the website. Immaculate, decorated tastefully, comfortable and lacking for nothing. If you want or need something, it is there. The location is perfect. Secluded and private, beautiful grounds and gardens with a wonderful seafront and swimming beach. When it is low tide you can walk forever to the left of the house. You may see someone on your walk, but you will never see anyone on your beachfront. We loved the fact that there are 2 screened in porches. One seaside and one garden side and they are huge. Depending on the winds you can choose where to chill. Unfortunately for us we had many windy wavy days. We have never wanted for a phone, wifi or a tv in all of our 20(?) visits to Eleuthera, but were happy to have them on this particular trip due to the unkindness of mother nature! Would we return? In a minute! Would we recommend the Getaway? Absolutely! The manager Tanya is very friendly and helpful. Pedro, the caretaker is as well. I wouldn't change a thing about the Getaway; it is perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your house. Everything was nicely done and no problems with our arrival. We didn't get to use the kayaks due to weather so maybe next time! Thanks again and we would definitely recommend your place to others.

We had a fantastic time....Getaway really is a little corner of paradise.....we absolutely loved it! The house was lovely and had everything we needed. To wake up in the morning and just wander out the back door to the crystal clear, warm ocean was amazing. The kayaks were great, we often paddled around on those and used them to head up the coast towards the little house on the rocks where the snorkeling was good. Lots of good shells, sand dollars, etc to be found and we managed to get quite a few of them home without breaking them. I found a big crawfish but I couldn't get him out from under a big rock!.....it was one day early for the season as well...... The Beaches of Eleuthera book was very useful......we visited several other beaches. Preachers Cave beach was glorious and we had it all to ourselves. We snorkelled at the Twin Sisters rocks (Near Glass Window Bridge) where we saw lion fish, rays and a large boxfish.

Wow! We are having a great time only a day and a half in. The house is great. Pedro was awesome yesterday. The beach...I have no words to describe. So glad we decided on the getaway. Exactly what I imagined and then some. We have 6 days left and we are already thinking about our return trip.

If you are looking for a few days in paradise then you need to go to 'Getaway' at the Current, in Eleuthera, one of the beautiful islands making up the Bahamas. The house is amazing with patios looking out on the ocean, and into the garden. You can choose to eat on either as they are both closed in. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook whatever you like. But then there is the beach, that you walk to, down a few steps. The water is clear and turquoise and if you are willing to dip into the water a few times you can walk a mile up the beach. I guarantee you will come back totally relaxed!

We appreciated the privacy of the location and its natural areas. It has a nice beach and the water is crystal clear. We also liked its closeness to the settlement (was only a 15 minute walk). The car was great and came very handy in our search for conch salad. The people in the Island were helpful and friendly. We made some local friends and hope to get back in the future.
